Cookie Policy

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

When you visit the KDDI website (the “KDDI Website”), certain data regarding your visit and activities are collected via cookies. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is stored on your computer, mobile phone or other type of device you use. Cookies help to provide you with the expected content when you browse the KDDI Website and to improve it, as well as to enhance your online experience in accordance with your preferences.

Cookies can be divided between two categories:

  1. 1.1 NECESSARY COOKIES
These cookies do not require your consent; they are not handled by this policy. You can obtain more information on necessary cookies in KDDI’s Privacy Policy’s link.
  2. 1.2 OPTIONAL COOKIES
These cookies require your consent as they are used for other types of purposes, not strictly necessary to the provision of the service you requested.

The regime applicable to “optional” cookies is detailed below in Article 2 of the policy.

2. HOW ARE OPTIONAL COOKIES USED?

  1. 2.1 PURPOSES
Optional cookies, although not directly required to provide the expected service or information, are very useful to enhance your digital experience. For instance, they can be used to display more personalized online advertisement or to link our content with that of social networks.

All types of optional cookies which might be deposited and/or accessed on your device(s) when you go on the KDDI Website are detailed in the table hereunder with further information.

You must give your prior consent in order for these cookies to be used on your device(s).
  2. 2.2 THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Please note that optional cookies can be used by KDDI but also by other entities, i.e. third parties (for instant, a social network which inserts a link to the network on the KDDI Website).

All cookies deposited and/or accessed on your device(s) by third parties are by definition optional and must be consented to. The table hereunder allows you to identify these third parties and provides a link to their own privacy policy for more information.
  3. 2.3. LIST OF ALL OPTIONAL COOKIES
The following optional cookies are used on the KDDI Website. Please note that your choices will be retained by KDDI for six months, after which period you will be asked to renew them.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, the consequences attached to such withdrawal being identical to that of a refusal of the types of cookies concerned.
